Location - Terrarossa Golf Resort
Terrarossa Golf Resort boasts an enviable location at the foot of Mount Argentario, between the Feniglia and Giannella dunes, just 2 Km from Porto Ercole.
The Argentario sea and beaches
There’s a crystal clear sea just a stone’s throw from the resort, that bathes the long sandy Feniglia and Giannella beaches (8 km long),with their magnificent emerald green and deep blue colours. Both beaches are protected by dense pine forests and surrounded by the intense fragrance of the Mediterranean shrubs and aromatic herbs. To sun bathe or for a refreshing swim you can also choose one of the sandy beaches such as la Cantoniera and il Moletto (also handicap accessible), pebble beaches (like Acqua Dolce, Cala Grande or the magnificent Cala del Gesso) or smooth cliffs (like Cala del Bove).
Once again this year the municipality of Monte Argentario has been awarded with the Blue Flag and Environment association and Touring Club sails that confirm bathing water quality and the environmental sustainability of the tourist services.
Argentario and Maremma were two of the first protected areas in Italy due to their wealth of bio-diversity. Nature lovers, in addition to the beauty of the sea, can experience the Orbetello Laguna and WWF Burano Oasis natural habitat , which are populated by pink flamingos, herons and cormorants in the fall. Also worthy of note are the spectacular oak and beech woods that surround the Padri Passionisti Convent, where you can enjoy a unique view, and Maremma Nature Park that offers captivating foot and bicycle (even on bike paths), canoe, horseback, carriage and mule itineraries all year-round.
Medieval villages and Saturnia spa
In addition to the nearby sea towns of Orbetello, Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano and Talamone, you can visit the Medieval villages of Scansano and Pitigliano or follow in the footsteps of the Etruscans in Sorano and Sovana in the Città del Tufo archaeological park.
You can also relax in the 37° Saturnia spa waters about 60 km away at Mulino Falls, surrounded by nature, or in the luxurious Spa. Here you can enjoy local dishes (tortelli, pici, boar, fish, etc.) and the famous wines of Maremma including the acclaimed Morellino di Scansano.
Sport and outdoor recreation around Argentario
You can play any type of sport and organise trekking, mountain bike or horseback itineraries in the verdant Tuscan Maremma just outside the Terrarossa Golf Resort.
For golf lovers, the Argentario Golf Club, just a 5-minute drive away, created a practice and 18-hole range (bio eco-compatible certified by Agri Cert) between the sea and sky, 2 polo pitches and a Club House. We have signed an agreement with the Argentario Golf Club for our guests to allow them to use both the golf range and services and to enjoy the Club spa.
If you love water sports and the sea, you can sail, kite surf, windsurf or rent rafts or boats to coast the bluffs and explore the small islands and grottoes. Furthermore, this sea, like the one shared by the nearby islands of Giglio and Giannutri (Tuscan Archipelago National Park) is a diver’s paradise since rich in fish, shells, coloured sponges and coral to admire and photograph.
If you like to travel by foot or bike, you can reach the Feniglia beach and pine forest on the bike path that leaves the Resort and fully enjoy the Levante di Orbetello Lagoon with its resident flora and fauna (deer, foxes, jays, etc.). There are free entrances to the Duna della Feniglia beach every kilometre, an important Nature Reserve where they say painter Caravaggio was found on his death bed.
You can also experience other splendid adventures on foot or mountain bike along the countless paths between the sea and hills.
